Culturally Commercial: Curatorial challenges faced in mapping the future of Caribbean art in a commercial and international contemporary context
Join Rachael Barrett, curator of I Is AnOther in conversation with internationally known art critic and historian Edward Lucie Smith. Smith is also a published poet whose writings are presently studied at Oxford University, a member of the Académie Européenne de Poésie, a past winner of the John Llewellyn Rhys Memorial Prize, an anthologist and a practising photographer. Smith and Barrett will discuss the current and future state of the contemporary art world from the perspective of Jamaican artists who exist as both participants and outsiders by mapping journeys of their survival and development.
