A day designed to interrogate- through performance and workshop activities- the nature and dynamics of postgraduate study within the context of a regional city.
A mixed group of Postgraduate students artists and undergraduate students are taken off together to a distinct location and through a series of performance related workshops, with a lunch thrown in, they assist one another to arrive at conclusions about how postgraduate study in Fine Art may fit with contemporary practice.
An exploration which helps them to place themselves within the wider development of the way creative culture is evolving.
What should a postgraduate artist be doing? Does education have a role? Where is that work located? How does it relate to professional practice, exhibition and career development?
The event is an innovative structure devised and presented by the writer and artist Michael Pinchbeck whose work has specialised in exploring new contexts and collaborative relationships. http://www.michaelpinchbeck.co.uk/
