Award-winning writer and performance maker Michael Pinchbeck takes his parents to the London Literature Festival to recreate the post-show party where they met in 1970 after an amateur dramatic production of The Sound of Music.
Mixing text from the past and present with movement to the real-time soundtrack of The Sound of Music, The Post Show Party Show asks what is present and what is absent, what is professional and what is amateur.
The Post Show Party Show was selected for the British Council's Edinburgh Showcase 2009. It has toured to over 20 venues across Europe and this run marks the thirtieth performance of the show. Supported by Dance4, Nottingham City Council and the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
'Truly Brilliant' - The Scotsman
'This innovative show is performed in the style of a Brechtian-inspired Morecambe and Wise double act.' - Edinburgh Guide
'This is a teasing, gently witty and entertaining piece about the shifting nature of reality.' – The Guardian
