Profile Information

What year did you graduate from NTU School of Art and Design

2006 - MA Creative Collaborations (Distinction) with Frank Abbott and Dr Jim Shorthose (cheers guys!)
What is your current practice?

Painting

I'm a painter, though I draw a bit too - not enough really - and am tinkering with other stuff - currently lens and computer/internet based things.

I've also been an art-school lecturer for many years - I teach lifedrawing and painting/fine art on the Foundation Course of Chesterfield College - and jolly good fun it is too!

Presently developing my (now post-) MA project "Considering Silesia" with the support of a bursary from Arts Council England, East Midlands (yes - it can be done - thanks guys & gals!)

The Über-project "Considering Silesia" seeks to examine issues of mixed heritage (where this may contain conflict), cultural memory and identity and the subject of displacement and migration. These themes are specifically observed in the contemporary context of our evolving relationship with the internet and new media (our digital “way of seeing”) focusing on 'virtual expeditions' to my mothers' homeland (Lower Silesia) and the analogue activity of painting.

FIRST BLUEBANANA VIDEO ART CONTEST 2009 "WATER"

From ArtReview.com - Posted by Tatjana de Luxe, Landau, Germany, on 16 October 2008 at 10:16pm in Video Art

Water (H2O) has always been the most important material for the history of the earth. The origin of life started when 400 years ago the first creatures crept out of the water and conquered the land. Water is the most important element of the history of mankind, it is a symbol of the power of life, purification and renewal. It gives rain to the dry land, to animals and plants.
Even in the… Continue

Thank you!
its an awkward piece in some respects, as decided to not explain the experience element - but to give you an insight... the visuals are 14mins long, the soundtrack 23 mins long- both looping constantly... so it would actually take a constant viewing of 335 hours to see the same visuals and sound together more than once!!
So, it is better if people have a little more time to give it, so you can experience the same visuals with different sounds.. as its an experiment in synchresis.
The shot of Jez was from when i tested the camera, ironically he was one of my tutors when i did my art foundation back in 92!!!

Thanks again!
