Artquest Administrator, University of the Arts - Temporary - Part time

Reference: EXT588
Occupation: Professional and Administrative
College: Academic Development and Services
Salary: £22,192 – £26,167 pro rata
Closing Date: 31/08/2012

Why choose us?
Artquest provides professional career development to visual artists and craftspeople through a programme of talks, debates, advisory services, publications, and a comprehensive website containing advice and information articles, films and audio. We provide the practical advice artists need to thrive in London and beyond, at any stage in their careers, as well as getting involved in the critical questions artists address in their professional lives.

Artquest is based at University of the Arts London, a vibrant world centre for innovation, drawing together six Colleges with international reputations in art, design, fashion, communication and performing arts. We are also supported by Arts Council England.

The role
We require a new member of staff to join our small team, who are all visual artists, capable of self-directed working and with a sharp administrative eye. You’ll be liaising with colleagues across the University, our Advisory Group and funders and updating our website. You’ll also be confident in social media and networks, an increasing part of our communications strategy. Occasionally, there’ll be some national and international travel opportunities, but you’ll mainly be helping the team produce and create our exciting programme.

Your profile
This role would be ideal for a practicing visual artist – in any medium – looking for a part-time job to bring in some income. We have a flexible structure, and look for flexibility in return. You’ll have experience in basic administration, including Microsoft Office, email and internet research, and a willingness to learn our Expression Engine website content management system. A keen eye is required to keep our huge database of opportunities, listings, articles, films and audio up to date, and working with our diverse range of stakeholders requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. And it goes without saying you need to be well organised, and willing to organise others.

In return, University of the Arts London offers generous leave, a final salary pension and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity. Relocation assistance is available.

Interview date: Wednesday, 12 September 2012
