Salary: £18,541 (Unqualified) - £24,771 pro rata (£6,860- £9,165)
Hours: 0.37 FTE. 310 contact hours plus associated admin timetabled (Thurs Sept - June /Wed -Sept to Feb/Tues - Nov - Feb)
Contract: Fixed Term commencing the week of 27th August 2012

Leeds College of Art has played a central role in providing specialist education in art, design and the crafts for more than 150 years and has a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our past students. On the 1st August 2011 we became the country's newest Higher Education Institution.

The opportunity has arisen for a series of vacancies on our popular Extended Diploma Art & Design programme.

The posts are primarily within the first year of the programme and have arisen at an exciting time in its development as we have just restructured and are moving from the Edexcel Extended Diploma Specification to the UAL Extended Diploma Specification.

Are you ready for a challenge? We are looking for someone with the ability to enthuse and inspire students from a range of different educational backgrounds on our Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design, based at our Vernon Street Site.

Working as part of small team, you will be required to teach a range of general art and design activities including, drawing, design, photography (digital) 3D & 2D studies. The role includes personal tutor responsibility. A full list of duties for the post is outlined in the job description for this role. An ability to be able to contribute to the delivery of critical and contextual studies is desirable.

All successful candidates will have a degree in a relevant subject, a teaching qualification (or willingness to undertake one) and relevant teaching experience. Ability to enthuse and inspire students from a range of different prior experience/backgrounds is essential
