LEAP, the Lancaster Emerging Arts Platform is looking for individuals at the start of their creative career to take part in an experiment to coincide with the first public event hosted by this newly formed organisation.
On the 15th of September, we will be hosting a day event where you will be given the opportunity to meet and get to know creative individuals from various backgrounds, across different art forms.
Through presentations, discussions and practical workshops we will explore the various ways we create, curate, promote and diffuse emerging arts today, and how we can define “emerging”.
At one point during the day, you will be given a stimulus and be asked to work in collaboration with other attendees on a response to said stimulus during the following week.
The results for this weeklong making process, which we expect will enable you to create lasting relationships with other artists and find new ways to create with the added stress and thrill of the time constraint will be shown at the launch event for Leap on the 23rd of September at the Dukes Theatre.
We are looking for enthusiastic creative individuals who are forward thinking and willing to push themselves and the work they make alongside people they don’t know and who may come from a different art form or background.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. To apply, fill in the following form.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday 15th August at 12 noon.
To take part, you need to be available on the 15th of September during the day and all day as well as in the evening of the 23rd. The “making week” will be flexibly organised to fit any other commitments you may have.
