Salary: Lecturer Grade B £26,276 - £27,876 pro rata (£6,567 - £6,969)
Hours: 0.25 FTE- 9¼ hours per week
Contract: Initially Fixed Term for up to 12 months
Leeds College of Art has played a central role in providing specialist education in art, design and the crafts for more than 150 years and has a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our past students. On the 1st August 2011 we became the country's newest Higher Education Institution.
As an institution we have decided that we want to encourage children into studying Art and Design from an early age, and help them realise that in the long term that there are a wide range of future careers and opportunities open to them if they choose to study Art and Design. To this end we have decided to launch a Children's Art School targeted at children between the ages of 9 and 18 outside our main HE and FE programmes. This will be a fee paying provision and run on a Saturday morning and during school holidays.
We are looking for a confident, self motivated individual for this new role to lead the on the creation of our Children's Art School. The post holder will develop the content and assist in the delivery of the Children's Art School and be able to teach on one of the programmes. They will be responsible for giving support and advice to staff and students associated with this provision.
The post holder will initially be working 9¼ hours per week on a Fixed Term Contract of up to 12 months, the hours may increase as the School grows, and if the venture is successful it is anticipated that this will become a permanent role. You will need to be available to work on a Saturday morning in this role.
