sounduk is a contemporary music producer who enjoys bringing to life new music projects both inside and outside the concert hall.
We are working with four rural touring schemes over the next three years to create site specific events that are relevant and exciting for their local audiences. These are Beaford Arts in Devon, Carn to Cove in Cornwall, Pound Arts in Wiltshire / S. Gloucestershire, Good Night Out in N. Oxfordshire.
In late June 2013, we will be producing Playing The Field – a family orientated event that will bring to life four different fields - one in each of the touring scheme’s regions - with a collection of sound and music installations.
We are seeking proposals from sound creators, to animate and ‘play’ these four fields.
We are open to all ideas - ‘instruments’ created from agricultural machinery, plants, trees or hedges, sound installations created out of fences, hedges or gates, automata that could be triggered by wind, rain or people, variations on traditional fete activities like ‘wang a welly’ or a ‘coconut shy’.
We are inviting proposals for two categories:
Category 1: Up to £2250 (aimed at emerging creators) Category 2: Up to £2750
Please submit a detailed plan of your two (or more) pieces including; a sketch of the piece, a full description of up to 300 words per piece describing what it will do, how people will interact with it, what it will be made out of, how the sound is created and whether it will require electronic amplification.
Please state which category you are entering it in - £2250 or £2750. We will expect those in each category to create two pieces in the field.
In addition please send us your CV and make sure it shows you have the experience / capability of delivering the pieces.
Please send your applications or enquires via email to: polly@sounduk.net & maija@sounduk.net
Decision: You will be informed of our decision by 6 September
