Contest for the illustration of a calendar

The 2009 contest is devoted to the artist Piermario Ciani, who prematurely died in July 2006. With reference to one of the aspects that featured his multiplicative and relational art, the contest intends to explore the creative fields of postal communication and collect the greetings of young artists from the world.
The calendar 2010 will be realized with 12 selected images and it will have a wide diffusion. Every stage of the contest will be advertised on web, press, radio and trade journals.

I creatively write you, you creatively answer me. From your country, your city, a place that you love, that you dream of, that you remember for the reasons you know. As you like, in the way that most amuses you, in the way that you like the most. Answer me from the world that you wish or from how you would like the world to be.
Answer me also from anywhere.

Participation:
The participation in the contest is free of charge. Artists of all nationalities born between January 1st 1974 and December 31st 1993 are eligible to participate. The participation contemplates the acceptance of these rules and the free cession of the copyrights for reproduction and publication of the works submitted, without further communications. Works will not be returned.
If the submitted work is made by two or more artists, the filled and signed participation form will be sent only by an artist; a short letter will be attached regarding personal data of other authors.
Prize:
12 images will be selected for the illustration of the calendar. In addition to the gratification of seeing their works published, the authors of the 12 selected images will receive a certificate and copies of the calendar. A popular jury will vote for the 12 best images, during the Autumn Equinox in September 19th and 20th 2009 in Clauiano of Trivignano Udinese.
Following this vote, money prizes will be assigned :
1st prize : € 1,000
2nd prize : € 750
3rd prize : € 500
And 9 prizes : € 150
The prizes will be taxed, as law provides.
Techniques:
All techniques are accepted (graphic and/or photographic illustration, painting, drawing, collage, computer graphics, etc.) and each author may participate with a maximum of 3 works.
Size and format:
All works should respect horizontally the 2:3 ratio and both sides of the format can be used. All works should be sent in the original format and in digital format on CD-rom. Each file should be in Tiff format at 300 dpi, CMYK colour. Each work should be marked by a title, without indication of the author's name. For each work a printed reference on A4 size paper sheet should be enclosed. Each description should be attached to the rear of the printing.
Despatched mode: Please write on the envelope "Immaginare il tempo, concorso per illustrare un calendario".
The envelope must contain:
1 to 3 works in the original format
CD-rom with the works in Tiff digital format at 3oodpi, CMYK colour
A colour printed reference on A4 size sheet for each work with a concise description in the rear.
