cura bodrum residency is an artist-run initiative located in the resort town of Bodrum (Turkey) on the Aegean coast. Since 2008, it offers a one-month residency program, in which cultural producers from diverse backgrounds focus on issues that are relevant locally, contextualizing them in light of persisting global phenomena.
This year, cura bodrum is partnering with freeDimensional, which is a network of community art spaces with two more coastal art spaces in Alexandria, Egypt (Artkhana) and in Dakar, Senegal (Atelier Moustapha Dime) in addition to cura bodrum, which are acting on issues pertaining to economic migration, specifically nautical migration. freeDimensional (fD) hosts activists in art spaces and uses cultural resources to strengthen their work.
