A PhD studentship in the Faculty of Art & Design, Swansea Metropolitan University, worth £10,000 per annum for 3years, plus fees, is available in the research area listed below :
Painting and Drawing: Our specific expertise includes the perceptual and philosophical dimensions of practice. Landscape is a particular research interest that raises multi-disciplinary concerns ranging across geographical, critical, ethical and ultimately ontological and metaphysical areas of enquiry and debate. Proposals for more general topics to do with the theory and practice of drawing are also welcome.
Applicants would normally hold a Master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the proposed research area, and/or be able to prove experience and applied interest in this field of research.
