The Serpentine Gallery is a ground-breaking public art gallery dedicated to international modern and contemporary art, architecture, education and public programmes. Based in Kensington Gardens, Central London, it is widely recognised as one of London’s leading galleries.

This is one of the most exciting times in the Serpentine Gallery’s 42-year history. A new space, the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, will open in early 2013 and will bring a unique listed building into public use for the first time in its 206-year history and provide a new cultural destination and landmark forLondon. The new space will complement the existing programmes by presenting pioneering art, architecture, design, dance, fashion, film, literature, music, performance, science and technology.

We are seeking to appoint two full time Sales and Visitor Services Assistants to provide an excellent professional Front of House service for all visitors at the Serpentine Gallery and Serpentine Sackler Gallery. As the public face and first point of contact at the Galleries, the Sales and Visitor Services Assistants will provide an enthusiastic and engaging reception service, ensuring that the public is informed about all Serpentine activities and events in addition to proactively seeking donations and selling Gallery merchandise.

The ideal candidates are exceptional communicators with previous customer service experience, ideally in a gallery or on a reception desk. Immaculate and approachable, even under pressure, the candidates will be excellent at projecting the Serpentine brand. The candidates must also be able to demonstrate a strong ability to facilitate and enhance sales figures. An interest and enthusiasm for contemporary art is vital, as is the ability to work weekends.
