See You Next Tuesday is a box-fresh festival celebrating women 8th - 20th March 2010.
See You Next Tuesday will showcase fantastic feminine and feminist talent for an action-packed two weeks, raising discussion (and eyebrows) about sex, identity, equality, and gender-based violence in a lavish and experimental playground of fancy.
We are currently accepting submissions for performance (theatre, cabaret, burlesque, comedy, music and dance), visual art and film for this innovative and unique festival.
Shows already in place include controversial classic The Vagina Monologues in a never-before-seen version. Think you've seen it? Think again! Proceeds from these performances will support women's organisations London-wide and internationally. Comedy, cabaret and delicious burlesque evenings will feature, and each Tuesday night will showcase new work by female and feminist writers in action. We're seeking breathtakingly entertaining, hilarious and thought-provoking performances by kick-ass women and feminist men. Sound like you? Get in touch!
See You Next Tuesday is an expression of our playful and provocative approach to "women's issues." We want to break open a forum on all the confounding and controversial words we have for femaleness what they mean to us.
See You Next Tuesday is taking place at the West End’s hidden gem, The New Players Theatre in Villiers Street. Founded in 1936, the 275-seat theatre space retains its music-hall charm, with red velvet seats, smoked glass screens and vaulted ceiling. There is also a spacious bar (with piano), and a lobby exhibition space.
Slots are available for performances ranging from ten minutes to 1.5 hours throughout the festival. We're booking earlies, laties, and everything in between. We're also booking weekend workshops.
All participating artists will receive the full benefits of festival PR and marketing, box office and front of house, technical and get-in support, and the beautifully designed festival set and lighting state.
If you have a show or an idea for one, or want to know more, chat details or apply, please contact us anytime at vdaylondon@gmail.com. We can't wait to hear from you.
APPLICATIONS officially close on 15th December 2009.
