The Faculty of Arts has a vacancy for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead a small team of knowledgeable and talented Technicians in the day to day running of a busy workshop.

Our highly skilled, dedicated technical staff support the research and teaching and learning of the Faculty across its undergraduate and post-graduate programmes. They perform an essential role supporting, demonstrating and enabling students and staff in one-to-one and whole group settings, maintaining and developing workshops and studios, as well as ensuring that health and safety procedures are formulated and adhered to. They are extremely passionate about sharing their knowledge with students and staff, and in assisting them to develop their ideas and achieve their full creative potential.

You will be a dynamic, positive, effective leader. You will be capable of working alongside academic staff as well as being directly responsible for a workshop and the supervision of a team who strive to provide quality technical support in a challenging environment. Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, you will be responsible for the maintenance and development of your team's timely, responsive and comprehensive technical support. You will have substantial technical knowledge and, preferably, extensive experience in woods, metals, plastics, CAD, CnC, with proven experience of people, budget and resource management.
