"If you have a church, a bar and a football pitch, then you have a town."
Traditional Costa Rican saying
S Mark Gubb presents Pura Vida, inspired by the Costa Rican phrase meaning 'Good Life'.
Gubb has commissioned a series of writings by K Punk (AKA Mark Fisher), Colin Perry and Chris Fite-Wassilak which will feature as a changing billboard adjacent to One Thoresby Street Studios. The billboard commission will be accompanied by texts describing personal 'Pura Vida's' by individual members of the Nottingham community, and distributed throughout the city on flyers. This work is also available for sale as a limited edition presentation comprising all 3 texts and 30 flyers.
Location One Thoresby Street, 24 hours, 24 August - 1 November
Preview Tomorrow, Wednesday 26 August 6pm - 8pm
Join us to mark the Good life Costa Rican style, and view the first part of Gubb s billboard commission in Sneinton. Serving traditional Costa Rican cuisine, a cocktail bar and with a game of footie, weather permitting.
